lovely beach

Patrick and I were in Palm Island, FL
this past week with my parents.
Our everyday agenda was:
sleeping in, relaxing, beautiful beach,
pool, soft serve ice cream, lots of food,
laughing, laughing, and laughing some more,
fox news, trying to fish, suntan oil,
golf carting, turtle hunting, more laughter,
and lots of memories...

We are so blessed.
We spent a relaxing week at the beach with family
and enjoyed God's beautiful creation.

"Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be all over the earth."
Psalm 57:11

McDonald & Heitkamp Wedding

Our friends, Allie and Brock
got married last Saturday!!!
She looked absolutely gorgeous!

I loved the bridesmaids' dresses with the pop of yellow flowers!
Each girl had cute button jewelry which matched
other button decor throughout the reception :)
The weather was a little chilly and rainy in the morning
but the sun came through the clouds just in time for a fun reception!
Congratulations Brock and Allie!
We are so happy for you,
Marriage is wonderful!

Joseph Millar

Telephone Repairman

All morning in the February light
he has been mending cable,
splicing the pairs of wires together
according to their colors,
white-blue to white-blue
violet-slate to violet-slate,
in the warehouse attic by the river.

When he is finished
the messages will flow along the line:
thank you for the gift,
please come to the baptism,
the bill is now past due:
voices that flicker and gleam back and forth
across the tracer-colored wires.

We live so much of our lives
without telling anyone,
going out before dawn,
working all day by ourselves,
shaking our heads in silence
at the news on the radio.
He thinks of the many signals
flying in the air around him,
the syllables fluttering.
Saying please love me,
from continent to continent
over the curve of the earth.

I'm done!!

I finished my paper on alcoholism!
(at 11:57 pm)
The first line is a quote from Ol' Blue Eyes.
"Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the Bible says love your enemy"
-Frank Sinatra

procrastinate with me

I have an 8 page paper due Friday.
My notebook is blank and I am procrastinating.
So here is a little beauty that
hopefully will inspire me to write:

(james merrell)

Okay this is not helping to write my paper...
mainly because my paper is on alcoholism in urban areas :)
but the pictures are beautiful.

hats off to you!

I kinda like it...

My drive looked like this today.
It doesn't look like a rain in Europe, but I kinda like today.Vincenzo Laricchia's painting "After the Rain"

I left my umbrella at home, which does me no good.
"When the rain comes in silence" from [here]

Which umbrella would you choose:
Japanese Cotton Fabric in Umbrella- [Here] on Etsy
I like the last row, third one from the left
... or maybe top row third from the right

and are these not just so precious:
Baby Rain Boot Booties... on Etsy of course

and would it be bad to go ahead and buy this Blooming Flower Baby hat:
I'll just save it for a couple years, in case they sell out ;)

one day

hmmmm...
If I had to design a room around this piece of artwork it would look like this:
(sorry the colors in the picture above aren't exact... they look weird on here)

I would paint the walls this color:
(which is what the pale silvery color really looks like on the artwork above)
accent with this pillow from etsy:
This beautiful chair:

Or maybe even recreate this exact room :)
Duralee gold fabric:
and I would wear these fancy earrings from etsy:

a sunny day

Patrick and I saw a lovely sunflower field like this:
on our way home from Spartanburg Christian Church.
When Patrick was little, he saw a sunflower fort in
Ranger Rick Magazine
(I hope this magazine is still around - It was my favorite as a child!)
and ever since has dreamed of his own sunflower fort... a manly sunflower fort :)

I searched "sunflower fort" on google
and guess what Patrick?!!?!
We can make your dream come true
because according to Escapades Direct
it's so easy to grow your own play fort!!
Their website shows step by step how to make one.
Here is the one they made:
So when we have a backyard (and kids!)
we will definitely make this!
